Fraud and Identity Theft
File a police report: get a copy of the report or a case number. It's your proof of the crime when dealing with creditors holding the fraudulent accounts.
If phishing or other online fraud, contact Johnson City Bank immediately at
830-868-7131 or 877-630-4726.
Call one of the three major credit bureaus:
- Have a "fraud alert" placed on your file so new credit cannot be given without your approval. Each credit bureau automatically alerts the other two.
- Request and review your credit report carefully. You are entitled to one free credit report from each bureau every 12 months.
